85th Oscars Nominations based on electronic voting !

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences made a official statement on Wednesday (25 January 2012) that it has partnered with Everyone Counts Inc to develop an electronic voting system for next year's 85th annual Academy Awards.

It may sound like another Rajinikanth joke, but a new website dedicated to the superstar runs 'without an Internet connection'! Visitors to  www.allaboutrajni.com  are greeted with a warning that "He is no ordinary man, this is no ordinary website. It runs on Rajini Power" and are advised to switch off their Internet connection to enter the website.

Only when the Internet connection is disconnected, one is allowed to explore the site.

Internet users can trace the story of the Rajinikanth from the beginning, read inside scoops from his films and get a glimpse of behind-the-scenes action, while browsing through famous Rajini jokes about impossible feats only he can achieve.

The site will stop working if you switch on your Internet connection, with a prompt that says - "Aiyyo.. That was unexpected...to keep browsing switch off your Internet."

The site, which is a new initiative by Desimartini.com, certainly is allergic to internet connection. The moment you log on to allaboutrajni.com, there's only one way you can enter the site - by switching off the internet connection.

As per the latest report by  Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2012 (BTR 2012), Nokia and Tata have retained their first and second positions from last year as India's top two Trusted Brands this year.

The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2012 (BTR 2012), lists India's 1000 Most Trusted Brands. The report, the result of a comprehensive primary research conducted on 61-components of trust - a proprietary tool of Trust Research Advisory. The research is conducted with 2718 'influencer' respondents from 15 cities, generating more than 2 million data-points from 12000 hours of research.

Wikipedia, the popular community-edited online encyclopedia, will black out its English-language site for 24 hours to seek support against proposed U.S. anti-piracy legislation that Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said threatens the future of the Internet.

Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, has defended the decision to blackout the website tomorrow despite criticism from Twitter's chief executive who said shutting down website globally is 'foolish'.

The English version the website will be inaccessible from 5AM GMT on Wednesday until 5AM GMT on Thursday, he wrote on Twitter.

Zaheer Khan, Isha Sharvani to tie the knot in 2012

According to the latest reports, Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan is all set to marry his long time girlfriend Isha Sharvani this year.

Their families met and have finalized the wedding details. If all goes well the couple will get married at the end of March, but if they can't do the preparations so fast they will tie the knot in October. The final decision will be made after Zaheer returns from the ongoing Australia tour.

Zaheer first met Isha Sharvani in 2005. They were in strong relationship till 2007. Due to some reasons they decided to end their relationship. But they got back together in 2010 and have going strong ever since. Zaheer even bought a new flat in Parel, where Isha moved in; they were planning to tie the knot last year itself.
