Brief History Of Telangana Issue

Brief History Of Telangana Issue

The 5-member Justice Srikrishna Committee submitted its report on the separate Telangana state demand to Home Minister P Chidambaram, who said government will consult all political parties before taking an "appropriate" decision on the issue. The two-volume report, prepared by the Committee after extensive discussions with political parties and other organisations in the state over the past 11 months, was submitted a day before the Committee's term was to expire.

Merger Of Telangana And Andhra

December 1953: the State Reorganisation Commission (SRC), headed by Justice Fazal Ali, created a report in 1955 recommending the reorganisation of India’s states.

The SRC was not in favour of merging the Telangana region with the then Andhra state. The Centre decided to ignore the SRC recommendations and established unified Andhra Pradesh on November 1, 1956. However, a “Gentleman’s agreement” provided reassurances to the Telangana people.

January 1969: Discontent with the 1956 Gentleman’s agreement intensified in January 1969 when the guarantees that had been agreed on were supposed to lapse. This movement also known as Jai Telangana movement led to widespread violence and deaths. Around 360 students died in this movement.

M. Chenna Reddy founded the Telangana People’s Association (Telangana Praja Samithi). This move flopped.
In 1990s the BJP promised a separate Telangana state if they come to power. But BJP could not create separate Telangana state because of the opposition from its coalition partner, Telugu Desam Party.

Congress party MLAs from Telangana region supported the separate Telangana state and formed a Telangana Congress Legislators Forum.

In another development, a new party called Telangana Rashtra Samithi (or TRS) is formed with single agenda of separate Telangana state, with Hyderabad as its capital.

In 2004:  for Assembly and Parliament elections, Congress party and TRS had an electoral alliance in Telangana region with the promise of separate Telangana State.

In September 2006 TRS withdrew support for the Congress led coalition government at center on the grounds of indecision by the government over the delivery of its electoral promise to create Telangana.
In December 2006, TRS won the by-election to Karimnagar parliamentary constistuency, which is considered by many as referendum on Telanagana state, with a record margin.

There is lot of pressure on Congress party to create Telangana state in 2008. In 2010, more than 250 Telangana people committed suicide over the delay in the formation of Telangana state.

On July 6, Telangana congress legislators and ministers met Srikrishna commission and made strong arguments in favor of the formation of Telangana state.

All the Telangana MLAs who resigned protesting the delay in the formation of Telangana(11 TRS and 1BJP) in February were re-elected in the by-elections on July 27, 2010 with huge majority.

On December 16th TRS organized a massive public meeting in Warangal couple of weeks before the submission of report by the Justice Srikrishna Committee. It’s estimated that over 2.5 million attended this meeting.

Court orders ACB to file a case against former CM Rosaiah in alleged land scam

Court orders ACB to file a case against former Chief Minister  Mr Rosaiah in alleged land scam in Ameerpet.

An advocate, Mr K. Mohanlal, on December 21,2010 lodged a complaint with the special judge for SPE and ACB cases seeking prosecution of the former CM, Mr K. Rosaiah, for acquisition of 9 acres 14 gunta land located near Mythrivanam in Ameerpet. The complainant alleged that Mr Rosaiah and 14 others conspired to grab the land under the control of HMDA for wrongful gain causing loss to the exchequer.

The government had taken the land under Land Acquisition Act on May 10, 2004, and even deposited Rs 70 lakh, its market value towards compensation. Mr Mohanlal said that under the Act, land once acquired couldn’t be given to private parties. But the land in survey numbers of 26, 30, 41, 42, 43 and 44, which had been with HMDA, changed hands between January and July 2010 and was under the control of 14 persons, he said.

The complainant alleged that the Rosaiah government issued the GO No 288 on July 15 this year withdrawing from land acquisition proceedings, though officials advised against it. The court posted the matter to December 27. Now the Court orders ACB to file a case against former Chief Minister  Mr Rosaiah in alleged land scam in Ameerpet.

    India's biggest scams:
    1. Ramalinga Raju, Rs. 50.4 billion
    2. Harshad Mehta, Rs. 40 billion
    3. Ketan Parekh, Rs. 10 billion
    4. C R Bhansali, Rs. 12 billion
    5. Cobbler scam
    6. IPO Scam

    8. Abdul Karim Telgi, Rs. 1.71 billion
    9. Virendra Rastogi, Rs. 430 million
10, The UTI Scam, Rs. 320 million
    11. Uday Goyal, Rs. 2.1 billion
    12. Sanjay Agarwal, Rs. 6 billion
    13. Dinesh Singhania, Rs. 1.2 billion

    Some more in detail:

    - KETAN PAREKH SCAM (2001) :- Ketan Parekh's modus operandi wasn't very different from Harshad Mehta's. If Mehta used banker's receipts, then Parekh used pay orders to ramp up the prices of his favourite scrips (the K-10). Apart from money form the banking system, Parekh also rerouted money from corporated like HFCL (Rs. 425 crore), and Zee (Rs. 340 crore) to good effect. He was caught when pay-orders issued by Madhavpura Mercantile Cooperative Bank bounced. Although the total amount involved in the scam was just Rs. 137 crore, the impact was far greater.

Apparently, when a bear cartel sensed Parekh was in trouble, it stepped in and leveraged a dip in the NASDAQ to bear down stock prices. The resultant slump in the markets happened soon after Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha presented what he considered his best budget ever. Under pressure from the government, SEBI investigated the scam and heads began to roll. Among them: the entire management team of BSE, including its president Anand Rathi, CSFB, First Global, and, in an indirect connection, P.S.Subramanyam, the Chairman of UTL.
Evidently, for the 18 months that PSS was Chairman of UTI, the Trust had mirrored the actions of the bull cartel. The result? When the market tanked, so did the NAV of its holy cow, the US-64.

    - Tehelka Sting (2001) :- Tehelka, an online news portal, used spycams to catch army officers and politicians accepting bribes, in their sting operation called Operation Westend. Investigative journalism turned another corner in the country.

    - Stockmarket Scam (2001) :- The mayhem that wiped off over Rs 1,15,000 crore in the markets in March 2001 was masterminded by the Pentafour bull Ketan Parekh. He was arrested in December 2002 and banned from acccessing the capital market for 14 years.

    - Home Trade Scam (2002) :- Under the pretext of gilt trading, Rs 600 crore was swindled from over 25 cooperative banks in Maharashtra and Gujarat by a Navi Mumbai-based brokerage firm Home Trade. Sanjay Agarwal, CEO of the firm, was arrested in May 2002.

    - Stamp Paper Scam (2003) :- The sheer magnitude of the racket was shocking-it caused a loss of Rs 30,000 crore to the exchequer. Disclosures of the mastermind behind it, Abdul Karim Telgi, implicated top police officers and bureaucrats.

    - Oil-for-Food Scandal (2005) :- K. Natwar Singh was unceremoniously dropped from the Cabinet when his name surfaced in the Volcker Report on the Iraq oil-for-food scam.

What India Could Do With Rs 73 Lakh Crore?

Build: 2.4 crore primary healthcare centres. That’s at least 3 for every village, at a cost of Rs 30 lakh each.

Build: 24.1 lakh Kendriya Vidyalayas at a cost of Rs 3.02 crore each, with two sections from Class VI to XII.

Construct: 14.6 crore low-cost houses assuming a cost of Rs 5 lakh a unit.

Set up: 2,703 coal-based power plants of 600 MW each. Each costs Rs 2,700 crore.

Supply: 12 lakh CFL bulbs. That’s enough light for each of India’s 6 lakh villages

Construct: 14.6 lakh km of two-lane highways. That’s a road around India’s perimeter 97 times over.

Clean up: 50 major rivers for the next 121 years, at Rs 1,200 crore a river every year.

Launch: 90 NREGA-style schemes, each worth roughly Rs 81,111 crore.
Announce: 121 more loan waiver schemes. All of them worth Rs 60,000 crore.

Give: Rs 56,000 to every Indian. Even better, give Rs 1.82 lakh to 40 crore Indians living BPL.

Hand out: 60.8 crore Tata Nanos to 60.8 crore people. Or four times as many laptops.

Grow the GDP: The scam money is 27% more than our GDP of Rs 53 lakh crore."
God Damn Politicians should be hanged till death..

    2010 India - A 2,00,000 Crore Scammer

India has become an acronym for SCAM as it stood up to the 9th most corrupted nation tag this year..

As the world bids adieu to the 21st century's first decade, India is still being riven with scams. Swindlers even entered the sporting arena by means of Cricket and Common Wealth Games.

It all started with country's most loved sport - Cricket. Indian Premier League(IPL) chief Mr.Lalit Modi was the kingpin of all the IPL mess-up. One can say that he dug his own grave through his twitter account alleging Mr.Shashi Taroor and Ms.Sunanda. It led to probing starting with the bidding process, player auctioning and fixing of matches. It even lead to termination of 3 franchises(two of which are already existing and one is yet to enter). Now, it's a different scenario as all the 10 teams are likely to participate in the next edition of IPL. Everything was summed to around 1200 - 1500 crores, although no exact figures are available.

CommonWealth Games(CWG) - A Quadrennial event, which India got a great chance to show its prowness, has also not been spared. Generally, any fluctuations would come out after the event or during the event, but in this case - Corruption surfaced well before 3 months from the commencement of the games. Initial budgetary allocation was about 1900 Crore, but it turned out to nearly 87,000 crores. All we can can say is "What the F***".

Last but the best Scam till now in the Indian Scam history is 2G spectrum's. It chopped of a whooping 1.76 lakh crores of Govt's treasury, as usual, headed by our Politicians. This time, it is captained by Mr.Raja. A Raja tune kitna khaaya..

Apart from all these, Karnataka land scam - Adrash Scam - LIC scam - all have contributed to another Scam-full year.

Radiation From Telecom Towers Is Safe !!

Radiation From Telecom Towers Is Safe ?

An independent study commissioned by Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI)- the body representing GSM operators and Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI)- the body representing CDMA operators, has revealed that levels of radiation from cellular base stations is much below the risk level.

Leading experts of IIT Madras and Center of Excellence in Wireless technology (CEWIT) while carrying out measurements on the electromagnetic radiation in Delhi, Pune and Mumbai found that in all circumstances, the “Cumulative Measurements” were well below the compliance limit set by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), adopted by the Indian government for the telecom sector, bringing it at par with the international safety standards.

Dr. Nadeem Akhtar, Senior Research Engineer, CEWIT, IIT Madras said, “What the report says is that the measurements in Delhi, Bombay and Pune show that the level of radiation is much below the ICNRP level. From this we can say that as per the international standard radiation from the mobile towers, at least in three cities where we have measured, is much lower than the radiation level prescribed by WHO and Government of India.”

    Provident Fund Bana Dega Crorepati

Employee Provident Fund Makes You a Crorepati By The Time You Retire..

    Pondering with the above phrase??

It's a fact. The 12% of your basic salary that gets deducted as Provident Fund(a.k.a EPF) every month, has the potential to make you a crorepati by the time you retire. This investment sounds too small but the interest rate offered is pretty high.

This blend of the interest rate(8.5%) and your small contribution leads to your huge long-term investment. This has become more interesting with Income Tax department making the EPF on withdrawal, a TAX-FREE(exemption) one.

Mouth-watering right..!!! All you need to do is, not to withdraw your PF untill you hangup from your job permanently. For this, you just need to submit 'Form-13' duly filled to the EPFO(Employee Provident Fund Organization), when you take up a new job.

In the 'Form-13', you need to fill the details of the previous PF account number and the regional PF office. Once the new organisation gets these details, it adds the new account number to it and submits the form to the regional office with which your previous organization had an account.

This process(transferring) used to take a month, great news is that EPFO is planning to go for a software which can transfer money online from older accounts to the new ones.

Now, stop hating your pay-slip showing-up PF deductions and start loving it instead to see yourself as a CROREPATI..

Bankruptcy lead to horrific Killing of 4 Lakh Baby Chicks

Huge Tax debt killed innocent baby chicks on a horrific scale in Russia..

Poultry women wept seeing the baby chicks die
Bearing a $190,000 tax debt, a Russian poultry farm killed about 4,00,000 baby chicks by dumping them in rusty barrels. These baby chicks were succumbed to death in the freezing winter air. Poultry workers reportedly wept as they carried out this harrowing task of overseeing the death of about 400 thousand newborn chicks. Hoping to save some of the chickens, workers tried selling them and even offering them for free to the families in the area, but there were just not enough people nearby to accept more than a small fraction of these ill-fated ones.

Poultry Women dumping chicks in rusty barrels

The poultry farm, located in the region of Kursk, is owned by Russian parliament member Alexander Chetverikov -- and he says declaring bankruptcy, which has forced the deaths of about 1 million chickens. With bankruptcy, the poultry farm has been ordered to eliminate its remaining birds, hundreds of thousands of baby chicks, before they grow enough into adulthood.

Thousands of chicks were succumbed to death in freezing cold

This is, of course, a human toll to the bankruptcy. The farm's closure will result in hundreds of layoffs -- but the memory of their final task may haunt them even longer than their unemployment. "It was breaking my heart seeing the little ones die like this in the frost," said poultry worker Svetlana Grivko. "We worked round the clock to keep them healthy and comfortable and now we are killing them with our own hands."

Farm operators even tried appealing to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for help, but got no response. When asked, even the members of the country's Agriculture Ministry failed to see why such inhumane measures were being carried out.

Hero Honda can use Honda brand until 2014

Hero Group and Honda have signed an MoU for Hero Group acquiring Honda’s 26% stake in Hero Honda Motors (HH), following the board meeting.

While the management did not share the exact details of the agreement, prima facie, serious concerns seem to have been allayed
    • Royalty rates to decline: Contrary to concerns, the management stated that royalty rates (currently 2.6% of revenues) would in fact decline from January 2011.
    • New models to be provided: Honda will continue to provide technology for new models under a fresh licensing agreement. Technology for the existing product lines will continue. In addition, the Honda brand can be used until 2014.
    • Exports permitted: HH will now be able to tap the export market across the globe without any restrictions, which is an incremental positive.
There are longer term concerns on: (a) HH’s ability to develop new products beyond 2014; and (b) Honda becoming more aggressive in the market. However, HH will have fair amount of time to address these challenges, particularly w.r.t. technology development.

Outlook and valuations: Business as usual; maintain ‘BUY
The broad contours of the deal seem to indicate that with continuity in products, branding and royalty, the company’s operations are unlikely to be impacted in the medium term (until 2014).

Further, we note that in the past few quarters, HH’s market share has stabilised and recent price hikes indicate an uptick in EBITDA margins. We expect these operational positives, along with potential lower royalty expenses, to offset higher R&D costs. We maintain our earnings estimate (EPS FY12: INR 127).

HH has underperformed the broader market by ~28% since July end (when rumours of the split first appeared) and is now trading at ~13x FY12E EPS (~15% discount to its peers). We maintain ‘BUY’ on the stock with a target price of INR 2,000 (implying 16x FY12E EPS).

India And China Are Not Business Rivals: Wen Jiabao

India And China Are Not Business Rivals: Wen Jiabao

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has said that India and China are not business rivals, but partners meant for cooperating each-other.

Addressing Indian business tycoons in national capital, on Wednesday (Dec’ 15), Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said that fast economic growth in both India and China has become an important engine for the world economy.

“Some media have described India and China as economic competitors and compared development and progress of our nations to rivalries between the dragon and the elephant. I do not agree with such views and I don’t think business leaders present today agree either. China and India are partners for cooperation and not rivals in the competition. There is enough space in the world for the development of both the nations and there are enough areas for us to cooperate,” said Wen Jiabao.

However, Wen Jiabao stressed upon the need for opening up of markets for each other in order to boost bilateral trade.

    Aspirin Cuts Cancer Death Rate

    Aspirin - Weapon for Cancer

Recent study at University of Oxford-London suggests that modest & low dosage of Aspirin may reduce the risk of death by 20 percent. But it also suggests that, it fails in showing the same result in women.

The researchers said that the projected risk after two decades of dying from cancers like lung and prostate would be 20 percent lower in groups who had taken aspirin and 35 percent lower for gastrointestinal cancers like colon cancer. Only one-third of people in the analysis were women which is not enough to calculate any estimates for breast cancer. There appeared to be no benefit to taking more than 75 milligrams daily. The analysis left out a high-quality experiment that tested aspirin every other day in nearly 40,000 U.S. women. No reduction in cancer risk was seen except for lung cancer deaths in that trial.

Aspirin has long been recommended for some people with heart problems. But it can have serious side effects, like bleeding in the stomach and intestines, and poses risks in groups like the elderly who are prone to falls. Balancing the risks and benefits of aspirin is really important and probably something that needs to be done on an individual basis. If anyone is considering aspirin on a regular basis, they should talk to their doctor first. People are also warned not to think of aspirin as a guarantee against cancer and other prevention strategies like not smoking and keeping a healthy body weight are also essential.

Job Market Looks Up In Fourth Quarter Of 2010-11

There is good news in store for job seekers in the last quarter of financial year 2010-11. The January- March quarter is likely to witness a lot of hiring across sectors, with Information Technology leading the lot. Top Indian tech majors, including TCS, Infosys and Wipro, will alone recruit nearly one lakh engineers in the fourth quarter.

"Actually across sectors, there is going to be a lot of hiring but IT, automobiles and infrastructure definitely seem to be bright. IT has already crossed its pre- recession levels, so they definitely seem to be high,” said Sumeet Singh, Senior VP, Marketing & Corporate Communications and Strategic Alliances, Naukri.com.

According to a global survey of hiring and firing trends conducted by international recruitment firm ‘Antal’, headquartered in London, 76 per cent of organisations in India are currently in a recruitment mode.

Anoop Gupta, Managing Partner for Antal asserted that the demand for IT professionals is coming not just from the IT industry, but also from other sectors.

"In India even non- IT companies are hiring IT professionals. They have understood more about the importance of IT. Earlier, it used to be a kind of support function for them, but today they are making it more strategic,” Anoop Gupta said.

Sonia Gandhi's sisters received Rs18,000 crores : 2G Scam secrets

Sonia Gandhi's sisters received Rs18,000 crores : 2G Scam secrets

Here is the sensational letter written by SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY of BJP directly to Prime minister Manmohan Singh. After reading this letter we will understand why Manmohan Singh had kept silent and not opening his mouth regarding 2G scam.

    Dr. Manmohan Singh,
    Prime Minister of India,
    South Block,
    New Delhi.

    Dear Prime Minister:

You may by now have realized that the 2G Spectrum scandal is not only bad for the country in the dimension of corruption, but now it emerges that there is a national security dimension too. The RAW, IB, CBI, ED all have enough material which they may have placed before you regarding the dubious aspects of the principal player in this scam.

According to my information two sisters, Anushka and Nadia, of Ms Sonia Gandhi had received sixty percent of the kickbacks in this deal i.e. Rs.18,000 crores each. The frequent travel of Sonia Gandhi and her immediate family to Malaysia, Hongkong, Dubai and parts of Europe including London requires to be probed under the law. What requires your special attention is the mode of the travel, not by commercial airliners, but by jets provided by the corporate sector which itself is illegal under the DGCA Rules. I find that often Ms. Sonia Gandhi and family have traveled to Dubai and then traveled onwards on private jets provided by dubious Arab business interests to Europe. It is not clear on what passport they have traveled. In Dubai they were facilitated by agencies of countries which are hostile to India including that of Pakistan.

You can no more not take a stand when evil is permeating in the country in the form of terrorism, religious conversion and demographic infiltration. The ill-gotten money in billions of dollars equivalent, the money laundering and Participatory Notes have all undermined our national integrity. The time is come for you to take a stand.

I am familiar with the information and data with our intelligent agencies. I also know that you can seek cooperation of other countries especially the United States in pooling information especially from inter Intelligence interaction that take place regularly. I hope therefore you will rise to the need of the hour and take effective steps to set right the sorry state of affairs in the country caused by overtly and covertly resident foreigners. In this connection I would like to meet you at the earliest. My Secretary will be in touch with your Secretariat to fix a time.

    Yours sincerely,

    (Sd SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY)
